Samuel Stabler is a painter whose inspiration comes from drawing, art history, and his personal experiences. At Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, London, Samuel Stabler received his MFA in drawing, an experience that led to his two most distinct bodies of work, hisOld Master and Cut-Out series. Both series are defined by the line and paper.In the most recent body of work, Stabler combined both series to develop intricate, technical, and balanced compositions, fittingly called Combines. Stabler borrows and recontextualizes images from art history or pop culture while incorporating vivid colors. Samuel Stabler lives and works in Athens, Georgia.
