Second Place

In conjunction to the current Jody Fausett exhibition, I thought it only appropriate to re-post the video of a flip-through of Jody’s book, Second Place*, published by GHava{Press}. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

*Second Place by Jody Fausett is available at the gallery.

Seven days…

…is all the time left of the show, Feeding Desire.

This exhibition will wrap up at Whitespace on August 9th, along with Natalie Chanin’s Quilt show and the BFA ceramics exhibition, Three Ways in Clay. Stop by and experience what someone has said to be a “ sugary decadence” and something parallel to that terrifying “sugar-coated fantasy” of the 50’s.

The epitome of a southern tradition– aunts hoarding of the recipes-

Thank you Paula Katz! Applause for the curator, please.

To the Contemporary, they went!

Congratulations are in order for Jonathan Bouknight and Michele Schuff for their recent move to the Contemporary studios! The Open Studios event that was held on June 7th was a fantastic experience. Both artists had their recent transition into these spaces, but the studios felt comfortable and oozed with swag. Here’s a glimpse of the event, and our appreciation goes out to Jonathan for letting us hold his camera hostage. These images wouldn’t be here without you! And may your creative juice run wild, as always!

How about a taste?

This preview, as well as the film, For the Waters of Lethe, was created in collaboration with filmmaker Jason Vise.

The rest of the exhibition feature sculptures, paintings, and works on paper by Sudden. Most of the installation is located in the main Whitespace gallery, but don’t forget about the extension of the show located in Whitespec. This space is attached to Susan’s home, and it is the perfect nook to provide intimacy between the viewer and the work.
