Tommy Taylor is an Atlanta-based painter whose work explores the shifting relationship between gesture, color, and abstraction. Inspired by spontaneous mark-making—from children’s drawings to the intuitive palettes in his own studio—Taylor creates layered paintings where forms emerge, dissolve, and reappear.
He holds a BFA from the University of Georgia and has exhibited widely, with solo shows at whitespace gallery, Institute 193, and Marcia Wood Gallery, and group exhibitions at MOCA GA, Aqua Art Miami, and venues in New York, Atlanta, and beyond. His work is included in numerous private and corporate collections, including King & Spalding, Turner Entertainment Group, and SweetWater Brewery.
A former Hambidge Center resident and Fulton County Scholarship recipient, Taylor has been featured in The Huffington Post, The Atlantan, Burnaway, ArtsCriticATL, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
