Statement

Much like seeing patterns in random data or faces and shapes in the clouds, Joe Camoosa’s work strives to induce a contemplative shift in perception for the viewer. Camoosa is fascinated by the momentary in-between space alternating between abstraction and recognition—of being someplace and nowhere at the same time. His paintings and drawings explore the relationships between shape, color, and pattern, and are informed by his love for architecture, music, and cartography.
